When one thinks of the Ruhr area (Ruhrgebiet in german) in the west of Germany, one would definitely think of smoking chimneys and ashgrey cities.

Instead of that, the region normally bursting with hard work and steel has a lot more to offer, a green, natural finish side with restorative forests and roomy hiking trails.

I was able to spend the whole May in Ruhrpott city Hagen by reason of working for travel agency „Wikinger Reisen“, so I had the opportunity to get to know this, to me so far undiscovered facet of the Ruhr area. And I’d like to share the impressions I collected with you here!
