Just a few minutes outside of Amsterdam is the famous village Zaanse Schans, where we also made a quick stop on our way towards Amsterdam.
The place is kind of museum for the industrial age and offers old and typical dutch houses, a mockup of the first Albert Heijn store and more than half a dozen windmills. Over 900.000 people visit the village each year. And even though we had to fight rough circumstances (harsh wind and little kids pretending to be bears) we really enjoyed exploring this place. It’s like all Holland on a stamp.
