SNOWBOUND IN LATE APRIL

So what do you personally expect from your spring vacation in late April?

Well, I can tell you what I expected when I started planning in January. I expected sunshine, 20 degrees and blossoms everywhere. That’s why a smart traveller always checks the weather forecast before he takes off. I changed very quickly to a travel bag twice the size of the one I wanted to take initially.

Munich was an overnight stop during my trip to Innsbruck in Austria and maybe it was pissed that I planned so little time for it. Anyhow I was welcomed by the city with a snow storm. And it didn’t get much better over the whole day, which meant I had to hide under bridges or trees from rain, snow and hail 3 or 4 times.

Nevertheless I got a little inside of all the beauty that the capital of Bavaria has to over and I really want to see more of it in the future. Maybe in a summer month like July or August, where blizzards are more unlikely to happen.

My highlight was of course the Eisbach wave in the English Garden where 4 or 5 hard-bitten surfer boys gave their best on the constant city wave. Really fun to watch and must be even more fun to go there before or after work. So I hope the speed up their identical projekt here in Hanover a bit.
